The home is located in one of the inner west’s finest tree lined streets, but much work was needed even before construction started .

The site being flood affected needed to be raised , so 100 truck loads of crushed sandstone along with a 30 tonne roller, was required to fill the site to the correct height in order for construction to begin .

Once excavation had started it became apparent that the water table was lower than expected and the ground below quite mushy .

Screw piling was needed as piering would pose a challenge with water filling up the piers quite quickly.

Strip footings and a suspended bondeck slab make up the ground floor .

Brick veneer rendered construction with a recessed cladding detail on the top 1.5m finish off the walls.

Flat concrete roof tiles and half round gutters and down pipes give the home an elegant finish.

Beautiful Australian sandstone lines the base of the building , front fences and planter boxes.

Inside wide board oak and dark pile carpet lines the floor.

Exquisite Carrara marble and beautiful veneers take their place in the kitchen and bathrooms .

The landscaping on this project also plays a big part in its success, with exposed aggregate driveways and pathways, and mature native planting, giving the home a sense it has been here for a long time.
