Alteration & Addition

Recognition: Winner 2010 Master Builders Association Young Builder of the Year

Architect: Design Confidential

Year Completed: 2008

Project overview: Set in natures arms, this contemporary addition incorporates multi level open living with a majestic outdoor living and pool area. With clever design, this home also separates quite areas to preserve the tranquility of a forest setting.

The objective from the onset was to have as little impact on the surroundings as possible. This was achieved by using the slope of the site to conceal the addition from the street but reveal its grandeur to its owners from the back.

The envelope was cladded with a fire resistant fibre cement paneling system that gave the home a soft yet commercial feel.

The finishes were superior and were carefully chosen not to have impacted the environment during manufacturing.

This home has a fantastic resort style feel but also warm enough to feel like home.

Kind Regards

Client Testimonial

When I originally investigated the renovation of our house, I had two goals in mind. Firstly I
wanted to create a home for my husband and two kids and secondly I wanted a return on
my investment.

Most people would consider that embarking on a major renovation at precisely the same
time as having a baby would be certain disaster. For this reason, it was paramount that I
hired builders that were trustworthy, honest and professional and who I believed would do
the right thing not only by me, but by my investment. With this in mind, I contacted a
number of builders, spent countless hours comparing quotes, interviewing and checking
references.

With all my research behind me I made a decision to hire Micrah. Above everything else,
they just seemed more professional, more enthusiastic and more committed than any other
builder I spoke to.

Micrah began working the week before my son was born. During conversations with several
of my friends, I can honestly say that I am the only person I know who has not had a bad
experience with my builders. Building projects are fraught with pitfalls ranging from budget,
timing or just basic communication issues. There are so many areas in which things can go
wrong, but despite waiting for something awful to happen, it just never did.

When deciding finishes such as bathroom design, kitchen design and colour schemes the
team were always on site to ensure a great look in keeping with the overall design of the
house and my personal preferences.

They have collected samples, tiles, bathroom accessories and countless other bits and
pieces because the suppliers were ‘on their way home’.

I am certain that other builders would have factored so much more into their cost base had
they delivered this level of service. In fact, I am quite sure you would only get this level of
service with Micrah.

So thankyou Micrah, I am so glad to have had you on board. You have turned a house that
I originally considered an investment property into a real home for my family.
