Project overview:This run down timber cottage set in the bustling suburb of Leichhardt was transformed into a resort style oasis ,while retaining its history and charm. The property was designed so that impact on the street scape and its original features were kept at a minimum.
The design called for excavation of 100m3 of soil to contain the second story addition within the height restrictions and conceal it in such a way that it wasn’t noticeable from the street. The project was constructed from termite resistant timber and cladding that match that on the original home. The timber stack sliders and contemporary finishes managed to marry seamless, creating a warm and inviting feel.
The hard work of the team resulted in a wonderfully finished product that rewarded the clients with a record sale price.
